Personal Care Assistant

Our devoted PCAs are here to help with your Activities of Daily living and Companion needs. At Elkhart, we obtain extensive criminal background checks and certified training, so that our clients receive secure care.

Elkhart's Personal Care Assistants and Companion/Homemakers provides the following services:

• Documents observations and services in the individual client record

• Reports any changes in the client's mental or physical condition in the home

• Knowledgeable of Elkhart's policies and procedures

• Household chores; housekeeping

• Cooking

• Shopping assistance

• Laundry

• Other routine household activities

• Assist with bathing (including unreachable areas)

• Combing hair

• Brushing Dentures

• Shaving with electric razor

• Providing stabilization while walking (Fall prevention)

• Meal preparation

• Arranging for medical and dental care including transporation to and from the appointment

• Providing or arranging for social interaction

• Providing transportation

Respite Care

Many caregivers turn to respite services to help maintain the kind of quality care their loved ones need while they are away or otherwise unable to provide adequate care themselves. At Elkhart, our PCAs provide 24 hour coverage for our clients daily needs. 

PCAs assist with and but are not limited to:

• Bathing

• Grooming 

• Dressing

• Mobility needs

• Medication reminders​
